Tango Company

Tango for the stage

Tango was born as a social and popular dance. With people's interest in seeing Argentine tango and as a means of spreading tango, it began to tour stages around the world. To adapt to the stage - tango breaks its traditional sphere of social dance and modifies its trajectory in space, thinking now of configuring its movements to be watched. In repeating those bodily possessions that exalted a sensation such as passion and some typical tango movements evolved in the air, the format of choreography for couples, groups or soloists begins to appear. It incorporates technical language from other dances and creates different formats, styles and ways of performing tango on stage. The main topic of the choreographies was passion and love.

About Benjamin as choreographic director

Directing, Benjamin Galian seeks an aesthetic and conceptual unity. He takes care of scenery, costumes and lighting. His work is characterized by a balanced union between music, personal histories of the dancers, contemporary art and old and modern images of Argentinien Tango.

His way of making theater is not always a mere narration, but also  a plastic dimension.

Benjamin created the Cia Charme Tango, made up of international artists.  He combined techniques from different styles of tango, contemporary dance and theater, offering a renewed, modern and original tango show.
